How Frequently are you questioned?

Funny you should ask.

A new novel (details are coming, or maybe they're above already...if not, please stay tuned).

Just continue reading...the older stuff  just happens to follow below...also check out POP FLIES page for some completely useless fluff and puffery that, at worst, might be kind of amusing...

How did you come up with the title for Emerald Idol?

The title describes the book’s handsome green-eyed hero, Nick.  He becomes a pop idol, but learns that the adventurous road to lasting love isn’t guaranteed by fame and stardom, and can have some bumps -- and deadly hazards -- along the way.

How did you sell EMERALD IDOL, your first MM novel,  to Dreamspinner Press?

I followed their submission guidelines to the letter, which included sending them a summary of the book as well as the completed manuscript.  They respond in something like six to eight weeks.  I got the news on a New Year’s Day and needless to say, I was (and am) ecstatic.

What is EMERALD IDOL about?

Set in Los Angeles in the present day, soulful eighties-era pop music sensation Nick Davanger's comeback is threatened by blackmail, old enemies, and the sins of a past life of decadence in London.  But hunky African American police detective Anson Bay has what it takes, and then some, to protect Nick from his powerful enemies and show him that he can love again.  That is, if Nick will let him.

Ever want to write a Christmas story?

How do you deal with rave reviews?

I'm shocked and delighted.

And what about bad reviews? Or even mean anonymous reviews?

I love it and prefer it when readers and reviewers enjoy my writing, but of course it's fine (sometimes inevitable) when someone doesn't like it. Some reviewers have tact when pointing out what they don't like. Others are not as nice, so you take that into account and write something else.

And what about having work rejected?

It's part of the game, so I recover quickly...pretty much any reaction to your work is a sign that you're still working, still in the game, so a rejection is just further proof you're still breathing. But of course it sweetens everything when a story is accepted.

Why write?

It's fun. Same reason I read and do other stuff I love.

Are you working on another book?

Yes, always writing and dreaming up ideas.
